Reaching out to the vulnerable children
There are over 2.3 million known orphans in Uganda more than any other nation in the world today. Many children are found abandoned in garbage heaps, pit latrines, ditches, taxi parks or are left by the side of the road. Most of them have been orphaned as a result of the current HIV/AIDS epidemic in Uganda. The orphans we receive range in age from a few hours to two years, with no known parents or relatives. We are dedicated to providing these children with love, security, shelter, medical care and education.
However, we are understaffed and need virtually any and all assistance possible in continuing to offer these vitally important necessities. Volunteers/travelers can help to supply these orphans with much-needed love and companionship as well as a solid foundation to meet their needs.
